eCopy Suite OP (Open Platform), which includes eCopy ShareScan OP and eCopy Desktop, enables eCopy to extend its product offering to provide even tighter integration with the next generation of Canon MFPsâ??Canon MEAP-enabled imageRUNNER devices.

eCopy ShareScan OP (Open Platform)

eCopyâ??s ShareScan OP sets a new competitive standard for easy-to-use, secure, and cost-effective electronic distribution of paper documents in the office. With the introduction of ShareScan OP, all the industry-leading features of ShareScan are now accessible from the control panel of the Canon MEAP-enabled imageRUNNER devices.

eCopy ShareScan OP software is comprised of three components: ShareScan OP Client, ShareScan OP Services Manager, and ShareScan OP Administration Console software.

eCopy ShareScan OP Client Software

The ShareScan OP Client is installed on the Canon MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) device and communicates with the Services Manager to display the user-interface and control scanning. Users can scan and distribute documents quickly to the destination of their choice.

eCopy ShareScan OP Services Manager Software

The ShareScan OP Services Manager resides on a networked PC and manages clients (MEAP devices), Connectors, and imaging and document services. Installed on a networked PC, a single Services Manager can support multiple MEAP devices. For high-volume environments, additional OP Services Managers can be added.

eCopy ShareScan OP Administration Console Software

The ShareScan OP Administration Console resides on a networked PC, and manages and configures the services managers, clients, and Connectors. A consistent, standard user-interface is familiar to Administrators; they can connect any computer on a companyâ??s network, making remote administration possible.

The eCopy Suite for Canon imageRUNNER® Devices

The eCopy Suite

eCopy software acts as the familiar office copierâ??s gateway to the corporate network and Internet. You can even treat paper documents just like electronic files, right from your workstation. The eCopy Suite of products includes an eCopy ScanStation and associated software applications.

eCopy ScanStation

eCopy ScanStation is a small-format touch-screen that attaches easily to any scan-capable Canon digital copier. Depending on the capabilities of your Canon device, scans can be either in color or black and white.

To make an eCopy, simply place the paper document in the copierâ??s paper tray and choose one of several â??sendâ?? options. Options are shown as easy-to-read icons on the eCopy ScanStation touch-screen, and include Scan and Mail, Scan to Desktop, and Scan to Printer. Custom â??Scan toâ?? buttons can also be created using the eCopy Quick Connect feature. For example, an eCopy ScanStation in a Human Resources department could have a â??Scan to HRâ?? button to input resumés in a specified folder on the network for later review.

Color documents are scanned with eCopy Xpert Compression Technology, which reduces file size by more than 99% of the original, while maintaining image quality. Files can then be easily transmitted across a network, digitally stored, and printed with superb text and image quality.

eCopy ShareScan Software

eCopy ShareScan drives the eCopy ScanStation and serves eCopies to the network. eCopy ShareScan integrates seamlessly with Microsoft® Windows® and Novell® NetWare® networks. Administrators can manage user-lists and create Scan Inboxes for multiple eCopy ScanStations from an administrative workstation anywhere on the network. Additionally, eCopy ShareScan enables connections into fax, E-mail, and other popular desktop applications.

eCopy Desktop Software

eCopy Desktop provides powerful document workflow tools that enable individual users to treat eCopies of paper documents just like digital files right from their desktop workstations. eCopy Desktop works with most E-mail and document management applications, including Lotus Notes Mail, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, OpenText Livelink, Domino Document Manager, and others. Also available is the eCopy Viewer, a free small-footprint (1MB) viewing application that enables a user to view and print an eCopy right from his or her desktop.

eCopy Connectors and SDK

In addition to the core functions, eCopy and members of their developer program now offer a series of â??Connectorsâ??â??add-ons that provide additional integration capabilities. These connected solutions enable paper documents to be scanned and distributed into selected document management systems and other enterprise applications, directly from the copier or scanner.

Create custom "Scan to" buttons that enable configurable file naming and destination selection with the eCopy Quick Connect feature. eCopy Quick Connect is an easy-to-implement means for integrating paper into an organizationâ??s workflow.

eCopy ShareScan SDK

The eCopy ShareScan Connector Software Developerâ??s Kit (SDK ) creates a â??Connectorâ??â??or interfaceâ??between eCopy ShareScan and a networked enterprise application. It is ideal for third-party developers or internal IT organizations that need tighter integration with enterprise applications.
